Grooming is about more than looks. It is a regular chance to check your dog's skin, ears, teeth and paws.
How often depends on the coat. Long and double coats benefit from brushing several times a week, while short coats may need it only weekly.
Most dogs only need a bath every few weeks or when they are dirty. Use a shampoo made for dogs and rinse thoroughly.
If you hear nails clicking on the floor, they are probably too long. Trim a little at a time, and ask your vet or groomer to show you how if you are unsure.
